• Home Attendants (also known
as Homemakers and Housekeepers)
Our Home Care Workers
can perform many tasks. Some examples of personal care tasks
are providing assistance with feeding, meal preparation, ambulation,
bathing, toileting, walking, transferring, grooming, dressing,
and other activities of daily living. Some examples of housekeeping
tasks are meal planning and preparation (including special diets),
laundry and ironing, shopping and other errands, and cleaning
services (sweeping/washing/vacuuming floors, maintaining storage
cabinets and closets, defrosting/cleaning refrigerator, dusting,
cleaning bathroom and fixtures, making beds, removing garbage).
Our services include
in-home supervision of the Home Care Worker by a registered
nurse and a regularly assigned Home Care Coordinator who is
the ongoing contact for all communication between the client,
worker and family. We are also available on a 24-hour basis
via our on-call service.
Service schedules/authorizations
are set by the referring agency (HRA or DFTA), not by us. They
can be on an hourly or a live-in basis. Hourly
schedules range from 2 through 12 hours per day. A live-in schedule
is around-the-clock, 24 hours per day (worker lives-in the home
for the days of the assignment).
