Welcome to Family Home Care Services of Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. We are an affiliate Agency of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens, established in 1980. Home care is a means of enabling the elderly, people recovering from surgery or illness, the disabled, and People With AIDS to live safely at home with as much comfort, independence and dignity as possible where institutionalization might otherwise be required.

     Family Home Care Services Of Brooklyn & Queens, Inc. services clients referred to us by the Human Resources Administration of New York City (Medicaid approved only) and from contracted Case Management Agencies of New York City's Department for the Aging (non-Medicaid clients qualifying under New York State's Expanded In-Home Services for the Elderly Program or EISEP) only. All clients must be referred by either of the above entities.

     Family Home Care Services Of Brooklyn & Queens, Inc. does have a sister corporation called Care At Home-Diocese of Brooklyn that takes referrals from many other sources including Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs) like VNS and Guildnet. They also service clients who are interested in purchasing services under private payment agreements.      Our home care services provide our clients assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). They include personal care (i.e., assistance with bathing, feeding, meal preparation, dressing, toileting, walking, transferring), escorting out-of-doors, shopping, laundry, housekeeping, assistance with home management and other duties.

     Home care workers are the important direct providers of these services and are placed in homes, based on need, from 4 hours a week up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Services are provided to patients regardless of race, religion or national origin.

     Our goal is to collaborate with clients/families, significant others, physicians, therapists, nurses, etc. in maintaining our clients safely in their homes with as much comfort, independence, and dignity as possible.
